2018 Lake County Cabernet Sauvignon, 28 Reserve AKB vineyard, Red Hills Lake County

This isn’t Lake County, Illinois, or Lake County, Indiana. This is Lake County California, and it produces great grapes.  The vineyard is located just to the north of the Napa County line and just to the east of the northeast edge of Sonoma County.  The farmer is a Napa icon, but we can’t legally mention his name.  The result is a wine mixing Napa’s bold black fruit with Sonoma’s softer red fruit.  The best of both counties at a much more affordable price.
